Council of Advisors
In addition to our Active Brotherhood, we have a group who volunteer their time to the advisement and forward progress of the Theta Psi chapter. These men and women, many of whom are initiates of our chapter, are appointed by our Chapter Advisor to their positions due to their dedication and hard work for our Fraternity.
Chapter Advisor - Brother
Our current Chapter Advisor, someone who is in charge of guiding the Executive Council of our chapter and helping us to better ourselves and RIT, is Kurt Ingerick. He currently works as the Director of Facilities and Sustainability for Auxiliary Services, he has worked at RIT for 21 years as a member of the facilities department. We feel his knowledge of RIT and problem-solving will be of much use to us as a chapter.
Our current Faculty Advisor, with the hope of being able to assist us with our proceedings through Event Registration, also providing general counsel, is Eric Nystrom. He is a recently tenured history professor at RIT. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha at University of Nevada Las Vegas. In the past at RIT he was the advisor to the Debate Club, he enjoyed his role as an advisor and was looking for another opportunity His ability to communicate and make important decisions will greatly help us as a chapter.
Faculty Advisor - Brother Dr. Heath Boice-Pardee
Advises the Chapter on all matters involving the engagement of the RIT student body at large in fraternity led activities.
Our current Academic Advisor, whose goal is to help the brothers of Pi Kappa Phi - Theta Psi chapter excel in our education, is Amanda Metzger. She has held several positions at RIT in the past 5 years.. She currently works as the Assistant Director for New Student Orientation, and in Reslife as a CEC/RC. She was the advisor of Art House, and plays a major role in the Academic Support Center on campus. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member. We are glad to have her and hope to improve on our already outstanding academics.
Our current Risk Management Advisor, in charge of ensuring we follow RIT’s policies and make sure that we minimize the risk as much as we can, is Joe Johnston. He currently works as the Director for the Center of Student Conduct. It is his 6th year in that position. He deals with behavioral issues and disciplinary cases. He also assists the Greek Programming Board as a Risk Management advisor, offering mock hearings, mock accidents to better inform Greeks and RIT Students about the potential dangers. He will be a great asset in helping us minimize the risk and danger to our brothers, and the others around us.
Our current Service Advisor, whose goal is to work with our Service chair and help us reach out to the community and allow us to have a bigger impact on the community, is Phyllis Walker. In the past she has worked on student engagement and community at MCC. She is currently the Assistant Director for RIT Leadership Institute a major service and leadership organization on campus. She brought the major service project, Alternative Spring Break, to RIT, and serves on Alpha Sigma Lambda’s committee, as well as the Public Service Student Awards committee. We look forward to expanding our reach and assisting more people with the help of Phyllis.
Financial Advisor - Brother Tyler Schrodt
Advises the Treasurer and Budget and Finance committee. Monitors the Chapter's financial state.
Alumni Relations Advisor - Brother Chaim Sanders
Works with the Historian and Alumni Relations committee in keeping Alumi involved in the Chapter. Also serves ex-officio as the Undergraduate Chapter Liasion on the EC of the Theta Psi Alumni Chapter
Recruitment and Retention Advisor - Brother Elliott Eskra
Advises the Vice President and Public Relations and Recruitment committee on recruitment issues, and oversees the suitability of recruitment events. Advises the Brotherhood committee on the retention and engagement of Active Brothers in the Chapter.
Member Education Advisor - Brother Matthew Lucasiewicz
Supports the New Member Education committee and Warden in delivering a program of CLASS following National Standards for New Member Education. While an Undergraduate, Matt started as the New Member Education Chair and went on to be Warden. During his time as Warden, Theta Psi was awarded with the 2012 "Lighthouse Award" for having the best Member Education program in the entire Fraternity.
